Let’s be honest, February and March suck. The cosy holidays are long gone, you’ve already given up on your New Year’s resolutions and you’re in desperate need for spring. Well, HYTE has done something quite remarkable. These two months have not just become bearable, they’ve become something to look forward to with much anticipation and excitement. Because of HYTE the Dam will turn into a true electronic music heaven where quality artists will perform during a series of events, starting this weekend.

HYTE hosts events all over the globe where international head-liners and upcoming talent from different labels perform. Berlin, Barcelona and New York are only a few of the cities where you could have experienced a HYTE party. The line-ups never fail to amaze; especially the Warehouse series during the Amsterdam Dance Event are still freshly carved in our memories and have set the bar high. Artists such as Henrik Schwarz, Ten Walls, Rødhåd, Monoloc, Ricardo Villalobos, Laurent Garnier and Recondite completely blew us away.

Whether you’re into harder techno, deeper melodious house or something in between, want to be blown away by big names or discover new (local) talent, HYTE has it all. Let us highlight some of the artists that’ll play this month when HYTE returns to the raw Warehouse Elementenstraat.

What to expect

On the opening night on the 13th of February HYTE partners up with LET, a successful concept that has had many editions in legendary Trouw. Alongside Ben Sims, Cosmin TRG and local heroes Carlos Valdes and Interstellar Funk, ItaloJohnson will perform. ItaloJohnson equals mystery, and who doesn’t love a little of that? Even the best reporters can’t quite figure out who they are. Rumour has it they’re from Berlin but even that’s uncertain. They play classic house that’ll make you dance, even if you don’t want to.

Another artists that will perform during HYTE is the extremely fast-rising star Job Jobse. This Trouw resident has played at Nuits Sonores, Nachtdigital, Burning Man and in Panorama Bar, and made the RA Top DJs list for the first time last year. Check out this wicked Boiler Room set! He will play alongside the intriguing Maye Jane Coles, Jackmaster and owner of Voyage Direct Tom Trago.

If you’re into something a little darker, Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann who’s famous for his releases on Ostgut Ton and 50Weapons, is part of the HYTE line-up as well. On the same night Robert Hood will perform as Floorplan. His track Never Grow Old wasn’t ‘the most played underground song’ during ADE for nothing. Dutch locals ROD and Thomas Martojo, one of the masterminds behind Dekmantel and known to have an exquisite taste in records, are playing as well.

And this is only a very small part of the entire bill. It also includes mister Ricardo Villalobos, Derrick May, Loco Dice, Benny Rodrigues, Apollonia, Ø [Phase], Pan-Pot, Sonja Moonear and Beesmunt Soundsystem amongst a lot of others, just to give you an idea. Check out the entire line-up of all the events here. We sure as hell can’t wait!
