About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

New name, same concept. Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Mind @ Radion

I’ve heard that Mind tickles the brain, makes your body and your mind dance, doesn’t do attitudes and picks its artist based on their qualities only. This new night is curated by Reza Athar who, as I mentioned last week, has an outstanding taste in music and seems to be involved in every cool party around these days. For the first edition Reza invited Prins Thomas and Ata to play and I couldn’t be more excited. Prins Thomas is the king of space disco and he made it impossible for me to leave de Natte Cel at the last Innervisions party in Trouw. This is quite the achievement considering Dixon, Âme and Job Jobse were playing upstairs. I honestly can’t wait for this one, hope to see you there.

Friday: All Under One Roof @ Studio /K

This one’s going to be special. Kompakt mastermind Michael Mayer is playing all night long. As if this isn’t enough reason to go Heleen Blanken, queen of visuals (she didn’t tour with Ben Klock just to hang around), has invited Sandrien and Inigo Kennedy to play in the second room. This event is only for those who registered and were invited. There are always some last moment tickets from people that can’t make it, and I also heard there are still some tickets at Redlight Records.

Sunday: Somewhere in Amsterdam @ OT301

I’ve been coming to OT301 since I was 16 years old so I’ll always have a nostalgic sweet spot for that place. It makes me very happy to see that a lot of interesting parties are going down there. With Floating Points, Hunee and Antal Somewhere in Amsterdam created a classy line-up. Check out this set from Hunee in Trouw at the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2013. Sounds pretty timeless to me. Hope to see you somewhere in OT301 this Sunday.

We’re giving away two tickets for G | O | D with Cormac, LUPE and Victor Coral! Check on our Facebook page and think of an original meaning for G.O.D!

Be sure to check out On and On and Cartel as well. Or check out Closure on Saturday.
