Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: SHMLSS pres. Night Fever @ Chicago Social Club
This Friday it’s time to boogie! SHMLSS is my favourite Dutch disco duo. From now on I will call them my fav DDD. I’ve had a lot of great times at Night Fever, still remember them inviting Rahaan in April for example. This edition San Proper will perform a disco set and Dollkraut will play as well. This one’s going to be awesome guys!
Saturday: Kompakt @ Trouw
This night is going to be one for the books, mark my words. Trouw has invited legendary label Kompakt on Saturday: Maceo Plex, Micheal Mayer and Trouw resident Patrice Baumel are playing. De Verdieping will be run by Prosumer and Murat Tepeli, Tim Hoeben and Kennedy. Boy, this is going to be good. Just listen to Maceo’s Boiler Room set.
Saturday: Tomorrow Is Now, Kid! – 5 year anniversary @ Studio 80
Tommorrow Is Now Kid has been a formula for success for five years now. I remember interviewing Alex Salvador exactly one year ago and I had a blast at the 4th birthday party, so I’m definitely excited for Saturday. Alex and Daan Groeneveld, Hellie Berry, Kid Sublime, Lenny Harmony, Malin Genie, Philou Louzolo and Times Are Ruff will rock your world in the lovely and intimate Studio 80. And remember, tomorrow is now, kids. Let’s live in the moment and party like there’s no tomorrow.
