Amsterdam Dance Event is my favourite sleepless week of the year. I’ve been going there since I was 15 and will try to go there until the end of time. It is also a week of great dilemmas. 80 venues and over 2000 artists are participating. How the hell do you choose between all those amazing parties? That’s where I come in. Something Happening Somewhere x Correspondant ADE Showcase @ Bar Feijoa

A lovely event to start your ADE early on Wednesday (it starts at 16:00). Everyone will probably agree that Nuno Dos Santos’ label Something Happening Somewhere has been a huge success. For the first SoHaSo ADE Showcase Nuno has invited Love over Entropy, Presk, Sigward, Tsepo, David Cornelissen and Pieter Jansen. On top of that Jennifer Cardini is representing her Correspondant label together with Man Power. I witnessed a Correspondant Night before and it was amazing. You don’t want to miss out on this one, trust me. And the best part: it’s free! What better way to start ADE?

4DSOUND: Max Cooper live performance @ Compagnietheater

This is one of those special hidden events that makes ADE so special. The new 4DSOUND system allows you to literally experience sound from all directions, which gives you a feeling of losing orientation; you’re basically lost in sound. How awesome does this sound?! I heard a really annoying intoxicated girl say ‘Oh my God, Max Cooper his music is like art’ once, but she was right tough. Add his brilliant music to this new sound experience and you’ve got something magical at this ADE Playground event.

The Rest is Noise @ Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ

Another highlight, mark my words. Henrik Schwarz is kicking off his world tour with his new live jazz ensemble, with classical and jazz virtuosos Dan Berglund and Bugge Wesseltoft. Schwarz has a lot of projects with classical music lately. I’ve seen his performance at the Concertgebouw at ADE last year where he collaborated with the Dutch Chamber Orchestra and it was amazing. I expect no less of this night. Not to mention that the whole thing will be broadcast by Boiler Room. This is your chance to become a Boiler Room legend, go and grab it!

Berlin ADE special: Stil vor Talent x Katermukke @ De Marktkantine

If you’re looking for easy-going house from the deeper side of the spectrum, this is perfect your you. I have some amazing memories of club Katerholzig in Berlin and I really like the label Katermukke as well. Dirty Doering is a lot of fun. This party is also a nice excuse to go and check out new venue De Marktkantine. And this is just day 1 of the ADE madness.
