About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: [P]Rewire @ Canvasopde7e

Rewire Festival showcases adventurous music and will take place in November at various venues in The Hague. [P]Rewire is the official warm up party at Canvasopde7e and it’s gonna be awesome. Andy Stott is one of the artists that will provide the music. He will play with Miles Whittaker as well; as a duo they’re known as Millie & Andrea. On top of this Still Serious Nic and Luc Mast (known from Malawi) will play as well. Adventure time this Friday!

Friday: Zauer Kitchen @ Westergasterras

I’m basically the most inpatient person you’ll ever meet, especially if I’m excited about something. I honestly think it sucks clubs don’t get busy until 1 o’clock at night. I’ve been working all week and on Friday I just want to start partying the minute I’m off work. Zauer Kitchen is the perfect solution. From 18:00 you can treat your taste buds to the Westergasterras chef’s surprises and your ears to dj Moritz, The Grey Matter aka Santino & Eric Brus and Daniel Zuur (who is the mastermind behind all this). And there’s even enough time to go out afterwards.

Saturday: William Kouam Djoko All Night Long @ Trouw

Trouw has been hosting a lot of all-nighters lately and I’m loving it! While Job Jobse rocked last week with Malawi, William Kouam Djoko is up this Saturday. Check out his Boiler Room set to get in the mood. At De Verdieping you can catch Don Williams and Jean Pierre Enfant play.
