About the author
Jerry is the name, online is my game. I'm a digital enthusiast, ranging from old skool gaming and Space Invaders to iPads and social media. The integration of digital elements in everyday life and art have my particular interest, and besides that I'm part time rockaholic.

No idea how to spend this sunny Thursday afternoon? Feel like having a beer on the waterside, but you don’t know where? I have the solution! Charity crowdfunding platform 1%Club will launch the Cheetah Fund today, which aims to provide 100 African pioneers with the resources to realise their ideas for a cleaner, safer and more social Africa. To gain awareness for their cause they organized a mini festival.

Celebrity spotting for charity

The campaign for the Cheetah Fund kicked off with the help of their ambassadors: Rapper Sef and TV presenter Evelien Bosch. They’ve battled each other to raise money; Sef through a mini festival at Waterkant, Amsterdam’s newest hotspot, together with his friends. Their goal is to support Ibrahim and his musical tour through the Sahara desert. Evelien on the other hand spent all day collecting trash of celebrities, to emphasize the waste problems that Mozambican Guido will fight.

I support the Cheetah Fund because it shows a different Africa; not just poverty and misery, but chances and opportunities.

The final results of their efforts will be announced today at Waterkant. Now. Needless to say, a lot of Dutch celebrities will attend to support the cause. Actor Geza Weisz, and DJs The Flexican, Cinnaman and Gregor Salto will be present among others, and you should be there too! So hurry up, we’ll see you at Waterkant in a bit. Oh yeah, don’t forget your wallet.
