Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: ZAUER KITCHEN AFTERWORK #1 @ Westergasterras

My favourite kitchen is back, only a little different this time. This month the event starts earlier so you can kick off your weekend in style immediatly after work. Enjoy exotic pinchos (fancy tapas on a stick) and get one of those killer gin-tonic’s that are served at the Westergasterras in glasses that look like fishbowls. Together with the finest music from DJ Isis, Josh Dupree and Daniel Zuur himself I could not recommend you a better way to start your weekend. I’ll definitley be there!

Saturday: PIXEL & SOHASO @ Trouw

Serously, I can’t wait for this one! I love Pixel, I love SoHaSo and I love Trouw so this Saturday is a match made in heaven for me. The line-up makes it even better. Daniel Avery, Lord of the Isles and Jorn Liefdeshuis are playing upstairs at Pixel and Etapp Kyle, Petar Dundov and Nuno Dos Santos are playing at De Verdieping. I’ll probably be stuck at De Verdieping all night because Etapp Kyle completely blew me away at the Dystopian and Klockworks Weekender in Trouw a few months ago. And just listen to that podcast Petar made for SEKOIA…

Saturday: LA RÊVE POPS UP @ Club Up

Time for an intimate party and some lovely vibes in Club Up this Saturday. Arjuna Schiks is one of the head-liners and going to a party where he’s playing is almost always a good choice. I had a blast on Shoeless where he closed on Sunday. He’ll be supported by Hubert Kirchner, Zwaan, Formel, Cliff de Zoete and Eppol which is not bad. Not bad at all.
