Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Magneet Festival @ IJdijk

Yaaaaay it’s time for Magneet again! I must say that not a lot of festivals have been able to match up to the lovely Magneet vibe. Still feels as if it was yesterday that I was dancing at the Shoeless edition last year. This weekend there’ll be some pretty amazing stuff. You can enjoy some theatre, eat delicious food and dance until your entire body hurts. Miss Melera, DJ Isis, San Proper, Boris Werner, Patrice Baumel and Olivier Weiter are examples of artists that will play this weekend. Don’t worry if you can’t make it this weekend because next week you’ll have a second chance!

Friday: A NIGHT WITH MCDE & MALAWI FEAT. Motor City Drum Ensemble / Antal / Malawi @ Trouw

A few days ago we all painfully faced reality. Trouw announced its official closing date; Saturday January 3rd 2015. This means we only have a few months left to party in the best club that Amsterdam, and the entire Netherlands, has to offer (if you ask me) before it becomes a student hotel. Personally I’m gonna go to Trouw as much as possible, starting this weekend. I have complete faith in Malawi, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Antal rocking my world on Friday.

Saturday: REDDINGSFEST @ Moby King

Life doesn’t get any better when there’s a disco party on a boat. The Boat, named Moby King, will take you on a whimsical 8 hour ride on the IJ and Markermeer. The line-up includes Melon, Haarbaarbaar and SHMLSS amongst others. Every time I hear Haarbaarbaar I’m instantly euphoric and I saw SHMLSS play last weekend and they were awesome. Can’t wait for Saturday ⚓!
