Fortnightly drawings about the daily life in Amsterdam. People going to work, hipsters crying about what choices to make, men living their dream at the Red Light district or lost tourists in front of the Anne Frank House.
Yesterday I was at De Parade. For the 24th time a diversity of actors, performances, tents, dancers and musicians come together in the Martin Luther King Park to enjoy the crowd. De Parade breathes extravaganza, circus, magic, humor and fun, and will alleviate your evening immediately.
De Parade truly is the most unique festival Amsterdam has to offer.
I went to see a couple of performances, and would like to recommend you to go see Lucky Me, an erotic performance where you can fulfill your needs in less than ten minutes (especially the men) and get a little (freaky) inspiration to warm up your own sex life (the women). Dominee Gremdaat, De Barbaren and Idiotorisch gestoord (in this performance I especially liked the bloopers) are worth to check out as well.
The quality of the very diverse theatre plays is very high, and not only makes you smile or laugh, it also makes you think about life in a subtle kind of way. De Parade is also my visual food, I get very inspired by the decoration, different shapes, lights, colours and exquisite people hopping around, and in my mind I exaggerate what I see with things who weren’t there.
I made a drawing, hope you’ll like it! Go and see these magical plays, before you have to wait till next year.
