Wave Festival is back. One of the cosiest festivals Amsterdam has to offer, held in the beautiful and breathtaking surroundings of ‘t Twiske. A festival for connaisseurs within the fields of underground house and techno. August 16th is the big day, the day on which they decided to expand on their usual musical formula by adding a small third stage programmed with more experimental sounds.
Scenery
Expect green fields, trees, even a cool lake as far as the eye can see. This all on a dish with three areas filled with the best in house & techno through a set of superb sound systems put together by Breakfast Club and Les Enfants Terribles. Two renowned and well-respected party throwers in Amsterdam, as far as we’re concerned.
Bill
This years bill features an internationally acclaimed host of artists, all at the top of their game. The kind of music you want for the mind, body and soul. The kind you feel in your stomach. Our personal highlights, in advance:
1. Steffen Benneman, mister nachtdigital. The man directs his acoustic pinpricks directly to the point where it hurts: Deep in your soul. Ranging from subtle to rather direct, emotions are at the core of Steffen’s music. The trippyness of his sets does not evolve from the hour-long manipulation of a single bass drum sound, but from the everlasting up and down of an inward journey instead, moving body and soul alike. Playtime: 17.00 to 20.00, Terrace.
2. The Mole, the Canadian DJ / Producer who has toured the world with his trademark techno sound. He has also released numerous records under various monikers, through a variety of imprints. Furthermore, he is a member of the experimental group, Modern Deep Left Quartet, which features all members of Cobblestone Jazz. Basically, The Mole will make you rejoice and dance your pants off. 3. Finally, I-F, known for being founding father of cult radio community CBS and being the driving force behind Intergalactic FM. Also, owner of Viewlexx and Murdercapital records. A man that has music in his veins 24 hours per day. Anybody that has ever seen him will recognise his inimitable DJ sets that he now performs all around the world. Playtime: 21.00 to 23.00, Terrace.
