About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Joris Voorn all night long @ Trouw

I would advise anyone to go to Trouw as much as possible while they still can. Trouw my favourite club and it’s such a shame they will have to close next year. Which means there’s even more reason to party like there’s no tomorrow. I’m a big Joris Voorn fan and I can’t wait to hear him play an entire night. I LOVE his Lykke Li remix so I hope he’ll play it this Friday.

Saturday: LENTE KABINET FESTIVAL 2014 @ Het Twiske

This festival is going to be amazing. Let me just give you a small part of the program to illustrate the awesomeness of this Saturday. You can bust some moves while listening to Dixon, Prins Thomas, Malawi and Omar S among others. You also have the possibility to surround yourself with art and culture from EYE, Foam or hang out at a gentlemen’s club from De Correspondent (which I support) and Das Magazin. Sounds pretty good right?

Saturday: PRISMA @ Studio 80

It’s time for triangular craziness at Studio 80 again. Who doesn’t love some futuristic, complex, artistic, deep techno? I know I do. Come check out Guy J, Roger Martinez, Some Chemistry, Hubert Kirchner and Unisol. You won’t be disappointed. See you Saturday!

Sunday: DEZE AVOND IS HET EINDE! @ Doka

After 10 months Doka will close its doors. I will miss dancing in this dark basement. If you’ve never been, this is literally your last chance. If you have been, this is the time to become extremely nostalgic and dance in Doka for one last time.

Doka

Check out Wunderbar, Cocoon, DIYNAMIC FESTIVAL, The Shell and Your Mrs. Mokum Mini Festival as well while you’re at it. My advice? Buy a lot of aspirins for Monday.
