Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Saturday: Oranjebloesem @ IJkade Aambeeldstraat

I think orange is a freaking ugly colour, I’m sorry. I’ll be one of the haters wearing black. BUT I love this kind of blossoming orange! How can anybody possibly say no to David August (not the deep house hits from a couple of years ago but a deep, slow, and vivacious sound), Mind Against, Job Jobse, and Some Chemistry?! This event was sold out in a brief second. If you really want a ticket though, you’ll make it happen. I believe in you. See you there people!

Oranjebloesem

Saturday: Thuishaven Koningsdag @ Thuishaventerrein

In the beginning of last summer I’ve had some crazy fun Sundays at Thuishaven. Its popularity seems to grow every week. The weekly festival won the Best Low Budget Golden Gnome award this year. Quality with an intimate vibe for almost no money is guaranteed. Go check out their King’s Day edition and bust some moves while listening to Eelke Kleijn, Kombinat 100, Lexer, Maribou State, Olivier Weiter, Parra for Cuva and Ramana Magic.

Thuishaven

Saturday: Festival Het Alternatief @ Undercurrent

Want an alternative for all the touristic mass parties? This is the place for you. Check out this insane line-up: Feel my Bicep, Move D, RØDHÅD, Paul Woolford (still love his track that EVERYONE played last summer), Jay Daniel, GERD, Rod Malmok, Delta Funktionen, Abstract Division, Alex Salvador, Daan Groeneveld, Halve Soul, Hellie Berry, Paul Cairo, and Jongens v/d Wereld Collectief. DAMN. If you can find some strength somewhere after King’s Night and Day and want to expand your marathon you can check out their after party. Enjoy the triple hangover, I know I will.
