Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: LET @ Trouw

Amsterdam is home to plenty of passionate night owls, hedonistic crowds and collectives dedicated to organizing parties. A remarkable one is Les Enfants Terribles (LET), a group known for hosting recurring parties at their favourite club Trouw. A way to categorize them is as a deep, passionate house and techno party. This weekend they invited none other than OstGut Ton key figures Prosumer and Murat Tepeli. Downstairs, at De Verdieping, find Luke Hess, Steve O’Sullivan LIVE and your host for the night Jean Pierre Enfant.

Saturday: THE GREAT ESCAPE – DETROIT SWINDLE ALBUM RELEASE @ Studio 80

Swindlers Maarten & Lars -aka Detroit Swindle- have been partners in crime for a while now, making killer beats, breaking down dance floors all over the world and simply leaving everyone caught with their pants down, figuring out what the hell just happened. The next episode in the relatively short career is the release of a new album called Boxed Out. To celebrate this they chose to do a new club-night called The Great Escape. Only thing I have to add is to go support your local troops!

Sunday: TROUW OP ZONDAG @ Trouw

Ahh, Trouw op Zondag, still my favourite club concept in town. You can grab a bite or do a dance with a crowd mixed with people freshly off the boat and others who’ve been raving for the last 12 hours. As always, their line-ups never let us down. This time, none other than the no.1 DJ of the world (according to Resident Advisor) is visiting again. Dixon needs no introduction. If you’re into electronic music and you haven’t seen him play, there is no excuse. He’s the big man behind Innervisions and he proved to be our generation’s best track selector. Over and out, enjoy the hangover.
