Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: Mano Le Tough & TAPE @ Trouw
Mano Le Tough, you might know him by now. He likes nature, eating vegetables and reading. He’s also Irish, romantic and illogical. Lastly, he’s my favourite contemporary DJ out there. He tends to tell stories with his long and deep sets. He will do so this Friday at Amsterdam’s favourite club, Trouw. De Verdieping downstairs will be filled with some serious house brought to you by Magic Mountain High live, Gifted and Blessed live and TAPE DJs. See you up front.
Saturday: Morgenavond: Hubert Kirchner, Applescal & Some Chemistry @ Doka
Morgen.am’s next label night returns to the dark and cosy setting of DOKA, a fresh new morgen.ep is due to be released at this family night. Hubert Kirchner is the man behind the originals and the amazing Applescal and Hubert’s studio buddy Zwaan took the honours of remixing. As always, promising producers throwing some deep spring music your way, this Saturday.
Saturday: Pixel & Rush Hour @ Trouw
Pixel is a night of indie-electronics at Trouw, hosted by Jorn Liefdeshuis. For this Saturday, Luke Abbott and Fort Romeau were invited. You might’ve heard of Luke before, being one of the protégés of the infamous Border Community label; the masters of complicated and ecstatic music. Furthermore, we have ourselves a very nice début by a London based DJ and member of the Ghostly International crew: Fort Romeau. As always, Heleen Blanken will be in the house to take the atmosphere of the night to the next level. Oh and by the way, downstairs you can find some proper house music provided by none other than Amsterdam’s most credible label Rush Hour featuring Actress, Moiré and Antal. Enjoy the hangovers.
