Good things in life come in threes. Just think of tricycles, rock, paper & scissors, and the Hanson brothers. And there’s another great trio waiting for you: Wild, Wine, William Klein. This Friday Foam cafe invites a chef and wine connoisseur to prepare a four-course dinner of game meat after an exclusive tour of the William Klein exhibition.
Retrospective
If you haven’t had the chance to visit the retrospective exhibition of the work of William Klein in the Foam photography museum, hurry up. For just three more weeks the entire museum will be dedicated to the life and work of this legendary photographer, filmmaker and designer. The last time a sizeable exhibition of his work was held in the Netherlands was in 1967 in the Stedelijk Museum. This time you’ll get a chance to get a tour after closing time to check out the work of one of the greatest masters of photography.
The wild chef
A master(chef) in his own way, is born and raised Amsterdammer Sjoerd Evenhuis, owner of Wild van Wild. “To me hunting isn’t a hobby or sport, it’s a way of life. Hunting is the best way to take responsibility for the meat that you eat, because you know where it’s from and exactly how it makes its way to your plate.” Sjoerd spends most of his weekends hunting in the south of the Netherlands or Germany. In his workshop in north Amsterdam he prepares his game meat into sausages and patés for many of Amsterdam’s hottest spots. At special events, like this one at Foam, you can see the wild chef at work.
So if your plans for this weekend include wine, dine and having a good time, consider Wild, Wine, William Klein. It might just be the perfect threesome.
