Art director, designer and photographer in the virtual world. What's in a name.

Sonic Acts commissioned ten artists to create new visually stunning video pieces especially for the vertical screen. I recently heard this showcase was being held in Rotterdam, which nearly made me want to go there. Can you imagine how glad I was when I read the Stedelijk was showing the same films.

The new works are created on 35mm celluloid for a special developed monumental vertical cinemascopy projection. Due to their size and format, you could say, the films question the very definition of film itself. Expect to see abstract films, distorted visuals, live lasers, found footage and chemical film alterations. I have to advice you to check out the previews: it’s not your regular piece of video, and quite trippy. Oh yeah, there are even lectures before each of the showings.
