Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Pets Recordings presents: CATZ EATS KiNK Tour @ AIR

Pets Recordings enters 2014 in style with a 4 day tour called CATZ EATS KiNK featuring Catz ‘n Dogz, Eats Everything and KiNK live. Their tour starts in Berlin followed by Amsterdam, Paris and London. This Thursday, AIR is their temple. Remember these guys are way up there in the major league of contemporary house music. See you up front.

Friday: KEINEMUSIK w/ ADAM PORT, &ME & RAMPA @ Studio 80

“Keinemusik is not the type of record label as you know it. When putting out a record, the guys will wrap it up personally, refine it with artistic splendour, stamp it and seal it with a kiss, before it ends up in the stores or on your turntable. Keinemusik is a DIY-operation. Not because it makes that imposing impression or because they like to wallow in nostalgia, but just because it feels right.” Studio 1 will feature captains Adam Port, &ME and Rampa, studio 2 is hosted by Overvloed. Go get jiggy wit’ it.

Friday: Seth Troxler & Audio Culture @ Trouw

According to the man’s biography “Seth Troxler was, in fact, a gift to Detroit techno from intergalactic house demigods from the future. Rumours that Seth Troxler is actually an alien are untrue; in the early first century these demigods kidnapped the virile first-born child of a Roman centurion and his Egyptian trophy wife.” He’s also the most entertaining DJ of this era and a very good cook. Downstairs at De Verdieping, you’ll be confronted with some more quality music by Audio Culture who invited Jimmy Edgar and GRAZE live. Music strictly for dancing.

As a DJ, producer and remixer, Michael Mayer remains one of Germany’s core celebrities in dance music. It’s no secret that he spends his weekends traveling around the globe. Throughout his career he’s played in front of millions. As a co-owner of Kompakt, he spends his weekdays deciding what will be released on the label and working with the label’s artists and overseeing Kompakt’s distribution wing – the home of over 50 record labels. With this said, the man obviously has the industry know-how to fill a 6 hour set. That’s right, this Sunday Michael will be playing for 6 hours at Trouw op Zondag! Enjoy it, enjoy the recovery.
