Hello! My name is Merel. In a different life I would've loved to have my own radio show in the morning or play the drums every night. Instead I became an illustrator & designer. I love drawing, talking and going to museums. If you like my work: www.merelcorduwener.com.

Fortnightly drawings about the daily life in Amsterdam. People going to work, hipsters crying about what choices to make, men living the dream on De Wallen or lost tourists in front of the Anne Frank House.

A couple weeks ago I went to De Verleiders, in Carré. The piece was played by the crème de la crème of The Netherlands’ actors guild. Five charming actors in expensive suits showed us how exciting the process of Netherlands’ biggest fraud case actually is (in case you didn’t know). They’re pointing to the audience, asking questions, screaming FUCK YOU for at least five minutes, closing deals, wearing sunglasses, going to jail, crying about losing so much money and just don’t know how to tell their wives, all in up-tempo. If it was up to me this play could go on for hours.

You can still buy tickets: in April they’re going to perform in Carré again!
