Revolutziya, a revolutionary way of partying

The days that you could just shout out your main act, kick back and watch your event sell itself are over. People want more than just an awesome lineup, they need a revolution. And that’s exactly what they’ll get with RеволуциЯ (Revolutziya) which means ‘Revolution’ in a mixture of English, Macedonian and Russian. It wants to bring people together through the power of music, and benefit society.

Charity through music

One of the people behind RеволуциЯ is Marko Nikolovski, better known by his stage name ME.N.U. He explains what makes RеволуциЯ different from other charity parties, like Be the ‘O’: “We’re very similar to the O Foundation. The difference is we do it locally, we want to act in the society that surrounds us. So start small and local, expanding as our tentacles let us.”

Helping the community through music is where it all begins, and starting this Saturday RеволуциЯ calls on all people to come together.

So, what about charity then?
“Their main goal is charity, while we also aim to help the community through music. Of the funds generated 50% goes to charity, and O Foundation gives 100%. Important to keep in mind is that money isn’t why we’re doing this. We don’t wish to be rich because our goal is happiness; our own and for all those who share our beliefs and principles. People who value privileges before principles will soon lose both.”

Your first project is to support refugees. Why them?
“Well, these people don’t have the required legal documents to stay here, nor in their own country due to bureaucracy. This means they can’t have their own home, and the squatted location they’re staying at now has no heating. Therefore we want to supply them with heat for a whole year, and we’ll also throw in a set of speakers ’cause music can give you the warmest feelings.”

Of course you need more than a great lineup nowadays, and that’s exactly what RеволуциЯ has to offer; doing something good has never been so much fun. But as you can see even the lineup by itself is a good reason to go. See you there?
