About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

I might still be a little intoxicated from my night in Trouw while writing this, but fashion never sleeps so I don’t either. My second Amsterdam Fashion Week Show was Stjerren Oan It Firmamint from Winde Rienstra and was sponsored by Vita Coco (which I always drink after Bikram yoga). Winde has always been one of my favourite designers because she lifts clothes up to another level where she almost transforms them into architecture. I left the show with mixed feelings however.

Fryslân

As the name of her collection already gave away, Winde went back to her roots from Friesland for inspiration. The show started with a signing performance in Frisian, which was a little awkward to be honest. I secretly hoped that the singing would be an introduction but it turned out that it continued the entire show. It might has fit the collection but, I’m sorry, I didn’t like it.

Tacky?

When I heard that the collection was about sparkling stars and that she used crystal and silver, I must admit I was a little scared it would be tacky. I was relieved to find out that the opposite was true. Because of the interesting shapes in the pieces, which she’s famous for, they were not tacky at all but intriguing. The woollen outfit on the 9th picture is my personal favourite.

I wasn’t a fan of the Frisian music and was a little afraid of the theme at first, but luckily Winde her clothes were so amazing that they made up for it. Without further ado I would like to let the pictures speak for themselves.
