Who wrote this?
Rob is 28 (but needs his beard to actually look like it), loves music, adventures and spontaneous people. His scribblings are about these things too, so if you share his interests, stay tuned!

A mixtape from an Amsterdam based DJ every Monday to kick-start your new week. Archive here.

Mark van de Maat definitely had his share of everything music related. DIY hardcore/punk at heart, his musical endeavours took him to countless different places in the Netherlands and beyond, ever broadening his musical horizon. The worlds of heavy distorted guitars and dance floor machinery shine through in his DJing: expect the more obscure tracks normally found only in dark back alleys, filthy clubs and desolate forests, ranging from black metal, to wave and house classics.

With this aesthetic outlook in mind, he nowadays co-hosts and plays at Knekelhuis nights, bringing leading artists in Italo disco, house and electro to Amsterdam. Soon he’ll take his musical explorations into the record releasing sphere, now that Knekelhuis is a collaboration of five individuals destined to take things to the next level. Mark’s unique blend of styles can also be heard at his monthly residency at Red Light Radio, appropriately located in one of the notorious Red Light Districts’ back alleys.
