Get indulged at the new Samsøe & Samsøe store

I’m a sucker for Scandinavian design. The fashion, the stationary, the interiors, the people, even the household accessories – I love it all. The clean-cut designs, beautiful fabrics and fresh looks never cease to make me greedy. Although Danish, Swedish and Norwegian brands have been popping up in a variety of Dutch stores for a while now, not many of them have a store of their own. But I have some good news for my fellow Northern enthusiasts, and fashion aficionados in particular: Danish fashion brand Samsøe & Samsøe has opened its first store outside of Scandinavia, and it is located in our very own Utrechtsestraat!

The store had been open for a few days already before they officially cut the ribbon last week, being attended with big black balloons, champagne and, of course, traditional Danish treat smørrebrød. With its high ceilings, fresh colours in addition to lots of black and white and many design details, the space reflects – not unexpectedly – the simplicity, sophistication and high quality of the brand itself. Most importantly, though, there is plenty of exposure for their Autumn/Winter Two Thousand and Thirteen collection, with great pieces for both men and women. Samsøe & Samsøe is a great addition to what the Utrechtsestraat has to offer, and sure will become a regular in my store visits. So I would say: if you’re up for some Danish design delight, hurry your ass down there!
