Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: AUDIO CULTURE X LONDON CALLING @ Paradiso

Oh yeah, quality artists again in Amsterdam’s pop temple Paradiso by Audio Culture, in co-operation with London Calling. You know, the platform for every next big indie band. Audio Culture will take the music into the next dimension with none other than Koreless and Darkstar performing live on stage. Support comes from Mattikk and your hosts for the night; Audio Culture DJ team. Enjoy the scenery!

Friday: BE THE O 2.0 @ Westerunie

Because the first edition was such a great success, the O Foundation is back to present to you the second edition of BE THE O. Combine the industrial atmosphere of WesterUnie, the sound of Amsterdam’s finest tech-house and deep-house DJs with the warm vibes of OFoundation and prepare for a night filled with pleasant surprises like face-painting, dancers, body-paint, visuals, Balls Hoops ‘N Beats and overall good music. Music is brought to you by Arjuna Schiks, Derek Haze, La Vondel & ME.N.U., Olaf Stuut, Jorn Liefdeshuis, Satori and Some Chemistry. The money raised at this party will enable them to realise their project with their partner in India Recyclekaro and the waste pickers on Mumbai’s dumping grounds. Help them make this happen and get your tickets now!

Saturday: HiFi feat. SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO / NUNO DOS SANTOS / PATRICE BÄUMEL @ Trouw

HiFi is the indie-house night at Trouw hosted by Nuno Dos Santos and Patrice Bäumel. A Place for amazing music, as they call it. This Friday they’ve invited none other than the amazing Simian Mobile Disco; an English electronic music duo and production team from London, formed in 2005 by James Ford and Jas Shaw of the band Simian. Musically, they are known for their analogue production. In addition to his work with Simian Mobile Disco, Ford is a producer and has worked with artists such as Florence + the Machine, Peaches, Arctic Monkeys and Klaxons. Not the least of artists out there. This Saturday they’ll be doing a DJ set, which means we can enjoy their presence for a bit longer than we’re used to. Enjoy the hangover, Amsterdam!
