The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is the gateway to the international electronic music scene. As Europe’s leading electronic music conference and the world’s biggest club festival, it’s the perfect time and place to meet up with international music minds, get introduced to an international audience and connect with new music, new trends and new people.
This year’s Amsterdam Dance Event runs from Wednesday the 17th till Sunday the 20th of October. If you’re in the possession of a fancy all-access wristband, we’ve made you a short list of the best parties to generate a massive hangover that will last you all week. If you don’t have an all-access ticket, we’ve added some kick-ass alternatives to the sold-out events. Here’s our recommendations for Thursday:
Break New Soil (ADE Special) @ Studio 80
Gregor Tresher celebrates his annual Break New Soil Recordings ADE showcase by returning to Studio 80 with the biggest line-up to date. Joining Gregor will be exclusive live performances by Extrawelt, Petar Dundov and Maxime Dangles. Also on board this year are Patrick Siech and Per Hammar from Sweden, and Amsterdam rising stars Some Chemistry and Bram Fidder. And as if all of this wasn’t enough, there’s a very special MYSTERY GUEST that will close the night off with a bang. This event has extended opening hours so get ready for a full night of musical bliss!
DGTL presents Wisdom of the Glove @ NDSM Scheepsbouwloods
Thursday night is in the very capable hands of Guy Gerber with his Wisdom of the Glove ADE showcase. An impressive line-up across the fields of house and techno. A serious stack of legends and personal favourites in the game: Four Tet LIVE, Guy Gerber, DJ Koze, Martin Buttrich, Lee Burridge and Bill Patrick. Sounds like musical orgasms to me, see you up front!
Dekmantel ADE – Crew Love + Todd Terje vs Prins Thomas @ MC Theater
Crew Love and Dekmantel will host an unforgettable, one-night show at the Amsterdam Dance Event to showcase their collection of taste-makers and musical influencers. Featuring DJ sets by Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap, as well as live sets from PillowTalk and No Regular Play. This audacious spectacle of kindred spirits will take place at MC Theater’s main room. Dress nice, people are attractive at Dekmantel parties.
Blending Cultures @ Toren Overhoeks
Presented by pioneering German label Traum Schallplatten, Blending Cultures showcases the work for which they are renowned: the sublime blending of underground techno, vocals and film to create performances that are as daring as they are powerful. Hosted together with Urban Art House, known for bringing new perspectives upon the art landscape in an environment that engages the audience in a playful, edgy and approachable way. Expect some intense audio-visual experiences with Dominik Eulberg, Ryan Davis (live), Mononoid (live) and Traum captain Riley Reinhold.
White Rabbit Invites Off Recordings @ Sugar Factory
After a successful 2012, the Berlin based label OFF Recordings experienced a massive breakthrough in 2013. Not only was OFF ranked the ‘#8 most charted label of 2012′ at Resident Advisor, its tracks with the famous black numbers also continuously dominate the Beatport charts. White Rabbit, known for their intimate parties at Sugar Factory and Club Up, have built a relationship with this family over the past years, as they have with our brothers from morgen.am. Together they form a coalition that will take you through a deep and diverse night full of infectious energy featuring Andre Crom, Betoko, Kevin Knapp (on vocals), Leftwing & Kody, mat.joe, Robosonic, Teenage Mutants and the morgen.am family in the second area.
