Ridz, advertises, produces indie/electronic music, performs throughout the Netherlands but ultimately always ends up at an Amsterdam based ensemble... then he blogs about all these things.

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is the gateway to the international electronic music scene. As Europe’s leading electronic music conference and the world’s biggest club festival, it’s the perfect time and place to meet up with international music minds, get introduced to an international audience and connect with new music, new trends and new people.

This year’s Amsterdam Dance Event runs from Wednesday the 17th till Sunday the 20th of October. If you’re in the possession of a fancy all-access wristband, we’ve made a short list for you of the best parties to generate a massive hangover that will last you all week. If you don’t have an all-access ticket, we’ve added some kick-ass alternatives to the sold out events. Here’s our recommendations for Wednesday:

Mary Go Wild – Book Release Party / Official Opening ADE @ Melkweg

It’s finally here, the much discussed book: “Mary Go Wild – 25 Jaar Dance in Nederland”. It will be presented in the Rabozaal of the Melkweg, and after the presentation it’s time to get this ADE thing kicking together With all the heroes who have given our nightlife colour for the past 25 years: Joost van Bellen, Secret Cinema, Quazar, 2000 and One, Edwin Oosterwal, Michel de Hey, Steve Rachmad and Fierce Ruling Diva. This event is the official opening of the Amsterdam Dance Event 2013!

Trouw is the home of cutting edge UK bass music to potentially start creating serious mosh pits to this ADE. Colors invited Bristol and London based artists navigating the unnamed airspace between house, breakbeats, dubstep and other well-loved dance music sounds. You’ve probably heard of a guy named Julio Bashmore, that’s right. Also in the house: Funkineven and Kowton, turning Trouw into a a high energy stage for bass music lovers. Downstairs at De Verdieping, your host and resident for the night; Cinnaman, all night long!

Finally, on this Wednesday the 16th of October, the collaboration between Studio 80, Welcome to the Future and Time Warp at the Elementenstraat Warehouse will be kicking off with a bang. The five night marathon will commence on the first night of ADE with a unique team effort of Dubfire’s SCI+TEC and Brazil’s hottest clubs Warung and D.Edge. Lots of quality behind the decks for this one, just to name a few: Dubfire, Audion (live), Miss Kittin, Tiga, Oliver Huntemann and Carlo Lio amongst others. This is serious, and it’s just the beginning. More ADE tomorrow!
