Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Deetron – Music Over Matter @ Trouw

Deetron has had two fantastic years since his hit Starblazer. His unique production style –a melodic, housey take on Detroit techno– has captured the hearts of many around the globe. Furthermore, his immaculate mixing skills and superb choice of records have kept him in demand internationally as a respected DJ for well over a decade. This night, he’s back in town for a debut all-nighter in the renowned club called Trouw. Nothing more, nothing less, just quality house music.

Saturday: Blackout with Oneman All Nighter @ Chicago Social Club

“Oneman has almost single-handedly re-invented old school garage, taking the art of DJ’ing to a new level , recontextualising 2-step garage into dubstep, grime, funky, ‘wonky’ and beyond. He’s the only artist ever to appear on Mary Anne Hobb’s BBC Radio 1 show without releasing a single record.” With this said, go and get freaky to the pureness of a true DJ named Oneman. Support comes from your host and resident Michael Jacques, De Nieuwe Garde and Alex Salvador & Bobby Andrews.

Saturday: Resident Night @ Studio 80

Before all the ADE madness, Studio 80 is hosting a night filled with local power, without any international fuss around it. Keepin’ it real, you know.. This means residents and familiar faces only. On the bill: Boris Werner, Tom Ruijg and Grythm, plus Bram Fidder pulling an all-nighter in Studio 2. Go support our local scene, before it gets dominated by the rest of the world after the weekend. Enjoy the hangover on Monday, recover on Tuesday, and the we party on, until… you tell me.
