Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: BandjeBandje #in de soos @ Chicago Social Club

BandjeBandje is back at Leidseplein with another genius musical experiment. This time, it’s all about the visitor being in charge of the music. Not that anybody can go on stage an put on their favorite record, on the night it’ll be Nuno Dos Santos, Applescal, Olaf Stuut and the newborn BandjeBandje DJ-team taking control over the suggestions. If you want to hear your track, suggest it beforehand via this high-tech app. Second room features more of them artists named Architecs, FLANNELS and Kiamae. Handshakes required at this event, see you up front.

Friday: THE HOUSE w/ Space Dimension Controller @ AIR

The House is about old school vibes for the new school tribes. They’re throwing another fine get-together at the renewed AIR. This time, featuring none other than Space Dimension Controller. Well-known for his house-drenched DJ sets, not being shy of dropping a classic every now and then. His productions all seem to breathe an energetic mix of early ’80s funk and disco, combined with classic house sounds. Local support for this one comes from Elias Mazian, Tom Ruijg LIVE and Pete Bandit & Jason Shae. AIR 2 Hosted by RAAF & ABSURD. Sounds like a party for the good looking folks amongst us.

Sunday: Lockdown Festival

Lockdown Festival is back! After a wonderful day in 2012, the docks around NDSM in northern Amsterdam are looking fine for another festival filled with bass-driven music. This year including two additional stages, yet guarding Lockdown’s intimate vibe. This year features some serious artists like Addison Groove (808 live), Huxley, Lone, Mosca, Cyril Hahn, Gerd, Mosca Oneman, Cinnaman, and Alfabet (Tom Trago & Awanto3 live) to name some. Expect a super varied program hosted by partners like Red Bull Music Academy, Colors and King Shiloh Soundsystem amongst others. A definite MUST for any lover of the bass genre. Lockdown was one of the key events that got us into the industry, years ago. One of the more honest and pure ensembles out there, light one up and go to the damn festival. Oh yeah, check out their trailer, it’s something different. Enjoy the hangover.
