Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday & Saturday: Trouw Opening Weekend @ Trouw

This weekend Trouw opens its doors again! That’s right, seems like they just closed the place yesterday, not? For the people missing out on the festival, this is your chance to still get a glimpse of the whole vibe. For the people going to the festival, this is the official afterhours. On Friday Trouw and Dekmantel invited residents Makam, Tom Trago & other surprise guests. On Saturday it’s Cinnaman and San Proper taking over the decks, again supplemented by other surprise guests from Dekmantel’s festival. Sounds like a proper way to continue the feast until the early hours of Sunday morning. Why not.

Friday: Lockdown Invites Mala @ Secret Location

Raw, intimate, underground, within cycling distance from the center and never used before. Some key features that define the philosophy of a fine organization like Lockdown. I’d say this is a must of any bass music lover, especially if you’re into the ‘illegal’ underground vibe. For this festival warm-up, they’ve invited Mala. Mala is a producer, DJ, label owner and visionary best known for his contributions to the scene known as dubstep, or any subgenre of that. Through certain frequencies, his music carries a message that fundamentally connects people, at any given location. Expect the support from none other than DJ+ to complete this evening.

Saturday: C.O.B.R.A. @ Secret Location

C.O.B.R.A. is a Collaboration Of Bright & Rare Acts. As you can read, this week’s guide to Amsterdam’s nightlife is all about secret location parties. Something to think about, if you’re missing out on the madness surrounding Dekmantel’s Festival. From what I’ve understood, C.O.B.R.A. is a place to go discover. A place of yet unknown underground house music. It features Alden Tyrell (live), Kong & Gratts and Mark Antoni, not to be mistaken with the famous Puerto Rican singer. I’ve heard this secret location is just around the corner, expect no weird bike rides to Sloterdijk. Get freaky, enjoy the hangover.
