About the author
Mark Visbeek is a designer, musician, superstar, and loves illeism. Always looking to create beautiful things, I'm often distracted by the amazing stuff happening around me. My most important weapons are limitless amounts of love and a faux-French accent.

The Royal Netherlands Navy turns 525 years old this year, and they’re about to celebrate! The super secret, super mysterious, censored-on-google-maps Marineterrein will be opened to the public for two very special days. As part of this year’s Grachtenfestival, Paradiso organises two days of music on this beautiful forbidden terrain at the waterside.

On Saturday night the 24th of August, local Afrobeat heroes Jungle By Night will take the stage. Together with jongNBE, an ensemble of the best students of Dutch music schools, they’ll make you swing ’till you can’t swing no more. So get on your dancing shoes, because just when you think they’re done and you can finally sit down to catch your breath, the decks will be taken by our friends Nuno Dos Santos and Patrice Bäumel to push it, push it, push it some more.

So when you wake up Sunday the 25th, your legs will be hurtin’ from all the funkin’ and dubbin’, and you might feel like sitting down and listening to some, say, experimental neoclassical trip-hop-influenced piano music? Boom! Paradiso’s got your back. For Sunday afternoon they’ve invited none other than German wunderkind Nils Frahm to come to the Marineterrein. Together with Anna von Hausswolff and support act FUSE they’ll cater to an afternoon of hypnotising melodies in the sun. I promise you’ll feel fresh like a newborn when they’re done with you, ready to take on the world again.
