Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: WGT & KREATIV Present: Warming Up with morgen.am @ Westergasterras

Start your weekend enjoying the sun at Westergasterras. As they do every Friday, they invited an Amsterdam based organization to represent their sounds whilst grabbing a bite and some beers. This weekend it’s the morgen.am crew shining behind the decks. Just look outside, and decide if this sounds like fun. Line-up: Robert Ferdinand (White Rabbit Set), Some Chemistry (Vintage House Set), No Reset (Disco House Set), ME.N.U. (Easy House Set), Francesco Robustelli (Groove House Set) and Maya J (Deep House Set). Starts at 5pm, ends at 11pm. But who knows what will happen afterwards.

Friday: De Nachtdivisie – Bunny Tiger special met SHARAM JEY @ Chicago Social Club

On Friday De Nachtdivisie will take on the the Chicago Social Club again. This time they convinced Bunny Tiger label boss Sharam Jey to come play a few records on this first Friday of the promising month called June. This night is all about his Bunny Tiger label, a sound effortlessly combining vocals of heroes like Snoop, Pharell, 2Pac, Busta Rhymes and Michael Jackson with nu-disco and house beats. Support comes from Terry Toner, Grythm & Michiel Tettero. Second area is hosted by the new hipster handmade shoe brand Mipacha, from Peru.

Friday: Colors – 3 Year Anniversary & Malawi Soundsystem @ Trouw

Trouw is home for cutting edge UK bass music to potentially start creating serious mosh pits this Friday. That’s right, Colors is celebrating its 3rd year of existence. Featuring none other than UK hero Skream from London, one of the protagonists during the whole evolution of dubstep music. Supporting him, your host of the night Cinnaman and 751. Downstairs at De Verdieping we’ll see the first party for Malawi Soundsystem, featuring Malawi themselves and Obermänner. Enough material for a restless stomach.

Saturday: Watergate 13 Release @ Studio 80

“Let’s celebrate the 13th edition of Watergate’s mix series, mixed by Watergate’s long-standing friend and resident Ruede Hagelstein!” Ruede is a child of Berlin. His productions transformed from disco-electro to a more minimalistic house and techno sound, reaching a deep touch the last few years. He holds residencies in Berlin’s Watergate club and Dusseldorf’s Harpune. This Saturday he’ll be representing the sounds of Watergate Berlin in Amsterdam’s Studio 80 together with his German colleague Sebastian Wilck and local support by ONNO, Beesmunt Soundsystem and Tettero. Be home safe.
