Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: Windmill 2 @ Air
AIR celebrates their third year of existence with six days of party-time. One of the most remarkable events is Prunk‘s own party called Windmill. For the occasion, he invited Genius of Time. An incredible live show of old school meeting new school house, fusing the analog sounds of beloved machines with modern technologies and possibilities. Steady grooves coupled with live instrumentation and improvisation, with a serious hardware setup for your eyes, ears and feet. Also on the bill, Nicholas from Italy and Harry Wolfman from the UK. Local support comes from Elias Mazian, Moody Mehran, Digital Fashion and of course Prunk himself.
Friday: Drukpers feat. Pachanga Boys @ Trouw
Once upon a time there were two young boys who felt they had something simple and beautiful to say. They wanted to talk of love, joy and being touched by life. Their names are Superpitcher and Rebolledo, together they are Pachanga Boys and they’re trying to make the world a better place with their ‘Hippie Dance’. Known for their dream anthem ‘Time’, they’ll be in town on Friday for another set of epic proportions together with resident and promoter Job Jobse. P.S. They’ll also be present at our stage at Buiten Westen!
Saturday: KNUS met Konstantin Sibold @ Club Lite
On Saturday, it’s time for a new indoor KNUS event. This time they invited the German DJ and producer Konstantin Sibold for a 3 hour set. If you haven’t heard of this guy, you most likely will in the near future. His productions have been supported by none other than Joris Voorn and Dixon, and ultimately released by the all-mighty Innervisions label from Berlin. Of course, KNUS residents Jan van der Lugt and Anton & Bernd will also be present to rock your socks off at Club Lite.
Sunday: Trouw op Zondag – Todd Terje @ Trouw
Following a string of celebrated releases over the past years leaning on everything from kitschy euro sounds to nu-disco and deep funk & latin jazz, Todd Terje has made his mark within the dance music circuits around Europe. This Sunday this strange phenomenon, known for his club hits Inspector Norse, Snooze 4 Love and Ragysh gets to shine at Trouw again. Good, now we can prepare for Queensday. Tomorrow more on that. Enjoy the weekend.
