Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: BlackOut with Omar-S @ Chicago Social Club
As Michael Jacques once said “BlackOut is about quality house, the best from the past but also the music of the moment. We try to keep all the good things from before with us, to respect the past and the roots of the music, but also to keep an eye open for its future.” With this said, Friday they’ll be doing another night of quality house music featuring none other than house legend Omar-S all the way from Detroit, USA. The man will be doing an extra long set on the night, as he should always do. Support comes from residents Michael Jacques, Casper Tielrooij and Lucas.
Friday: Rtfkt.net Night – Christian Loffler, Applescal, Mattheis @ OT301
The end of winter will soon be upon us, and Rtfkt.net wants to celebrate this in style. Back at their favorite playground OT301, www.rtfkt.net present Christian Löffler (DE), Applescal, Mattheis and Feffeffef. Resident Advisor described the music of foreign guest Christian Löffler as “pastel-shaded atmospherics, organically evolving percussion and dubby beats which seem soft and malleable, tugging at you irresistibly with softly-suckered tentacles while gliding into your consciousness without any effort whatsoever.” Couldn’t have said it better. Furthermore, you must know techno-wunderkind Applescal by now. Be sure to also check out Mattheis though, another talented gem walking our streets! Oh yeah, come early ’cause this one starts at 9pm already.
Saturday: Boston Strip x Night Flight with Paul Woolford at Club Up
Saturday is the day Boston Strip x Night Flight invite a true legend from the UK, the inventor of funky house, creator of the everlasting hit ‘Erotic Discourse’, big releases on Planet-E and Hotflush Recordings and a DJ who selects the finest house and techno sounds: Paul Woolford. As always, they’ll be splitting up Club Up and De Kring, one will hosted by Boston Strip and the other by Night Flight with all their residents. Again, I can’t wait to hear Erotic Discourse played by the originator himself and go bonkers, so who’s with me? Have an epic hangover Amsterdam!
