About the author
As a twenty-five year old writer, hummusaddict, night decorator, Master student, secret girlfriend of James Franco and lover of thick books, I totally agree with the saying that wolves don't lose sleep over the opinion of sheep.

When I turned 21 my mother gave me the best present in years: a Nikon D5000. This camera became my new best friend and even a pillow during my bus tours in Asia. Some Australian backpacker even gave it a name, Cornelis, because he thought it was a bit odd I talked to a lifeless apparatus. Why do I love him so much? Because when I had the idiotic idea to climb a 3726 meters high Indonesian mountain, he kept the view. Or when I thought a was an artist and made a series about my friends having terrible hangovers, these pictures can still make me laugh.

Go pro

I might always stay an amateur, but still have the opportunity to submit in the FOAM Talent Call 2013. My favourite hangout during these snowy days holds this contest for the seventh time this year. Our city seems to float on images these days, but don’t let the competition hold you back. Your genius can be discovered and before you know it you get published (in Foam magazine), exhibited (during the UNSEEN photo fair), connected and known. Still not the next Anton Corbijn and working on creative portraits like I do? No worries, closing date is only April 1st.
