Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: PRISMA @ Studio 80

PRISMA is futuristic, complex, artistic, idiosyncratic, triangular and deeply mysterious, just like you are. PRISMA is Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon being performed live by Trentemøller on XTC he got from James Holden. PRISMA is basically music from the future. A must for any cognoscente of the fusing and vivacious emo-electronica genre.”

For this first edition of 2013, PRISMA invited some very special friends of the show to celebrate host Some Chemistry’s birthday. All artists have a history with this group of electronica enthousiasts. Starting with Solee, the big man behind Parquet Recordings with numerous of prismatic productions over the past years, including a really nice one for Gui Boratto. Both N’to and Spada can be called foreign residents of PRISMA, the latter of which just released a new album two weeks ago, which he will proudly present with a special live show this Friday. Of course, local power is represented like always in the form of more live sets by the talented Daniel Zuur, Olaf Stuut and Hubert Kirchner. Don’t think it can get more uplifting than this, people.

Friday: ZeeZout @ Chicago Social Club

Our friends called Zeezout are back in town for another one of their get-togethers at Chicago Social Club. Once again it’s all about smooth, sexy, deep and disco music with Mario Basanov in the spotlights all the way from Lithuania. In the second area they have something special as well: Slapfunk label frontman Samuel Deep will team up with Larry de Kat for an all-night b2b special. Expect some funky house music. Finally, ZeeZout residents SHMLSS and Halve Soul will be present with their best of disco track selection to complete the night.

Friday: Open Till Close with Sharam Jey @ Barkode

DJ, producer, label head – Sharam Jey from Cologne, Germany, is a real renaissance man. After his remix of Cafè Del Mar’s ‘Energy 52′ was voted Best Dance Track Of All Time (Mixmag), Sharam went on to remix the likes of Moby, Mylo, Faith No More, Faithless, Salt N Peppa, Warren G. and loads more. This is in addition to over 50 own releases on labels like Underwater Records, Hooj Choons, Airtight, Four Twenty, Ink records and much more. Right now he runs his own record label ‘Bunny Tiger’ which has delivered some of 2012’s biggest club tracks. Bunny Tiger will feature some of the hottest collaborations to come in 2013: Phonique, Kolombo, Tapesh and more to come. He’ll be doing a 7 hour (!!) set at Barkode this Saturday, glad to see these kinds of German all-nighters are happening more often in this city!
