Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: The Big Man Himself: Oliver Schories – All night long @ Chicago Social Club

Whether it’s behind the turntables or in the studio, Oliver likes versatile, techno infused tracks with room for deep elements as well as pure dancefloor work. His style is warm and subtle but at the same time very energetic. Specially over the past year, Schories has built up an impressive following in Amsterdam, which led to his own Big Man Himself show selling out this Friday at the Chicago Social Club. If you can’t miss this but don’t have a ticket yet, be early, as there are only 150 tickets available at the door folks!

Saturday: Boris -Wip Wap- Werner Show @ Studio 80

“Boris Werner might’ve started as a local rock star, but is now close to being a legend. He is the co-host of Late Night Society in Trouw, where everyone dresses up chic and acts like trash. He plays abroad a lot, but still has gigs in our beloved city. The most crazy example must be his extremely long sets in Studio 80. In 2010 Boris did a ten hour marathon to celebrate his ten year anniversary. He added an hour the next year. You might suspect him playing 13 hours this year. That’s where you’re wrong, this year he’s going all out. On Saturday the 19th he will play Studio 80 for as long as he wants; the night has an open end.” Go support this local rockstar.

Saturday: Night Flight x Boston Strip with Patrice Scott @ Club Up

Our friends from Night Flight were able to haul one of Detroits finest to Amsterdam for this Saturday’s event: Patrice Scott, known for his quality releases and uplifting sets. Yup, it’s time for another classic edition of Night Flight x Boston Strip at Leidseplein’s Club Up. Support comes from Haron, The Social Lover and Boston Strip’s Alex Charry, DDK, Mudde, Faber and Lauraa. Start gathering those pain killers together cause this sounds like sweat, gin-tonic and shoarma afterwards. Cheers to the hangover.
