What happens if four young folks feel that there´s not enough room for their ideas? Pieter, Reinier, Nils and Nick prove that completing all your ECTS isn’t the condition for success. With the recent opening of the no-longer-pop-up-store their hodgepodge adventure is still growing strong. They fill up the former mattress Walhalla with handmade lamps, cappuccinos and canvas from De grote 8. This triangle of careful chosen products, a coffee bar and the official desks of PUPconcepts is the base of the powerful mix and mingle which is much more than just another shop around the block.
Downstairs
Gliding down the stairs you’ll find qualitative things-we-like in divergent categories. Masculine caps from the Australian DEUS who will keep your crown kind of warm these wintery days, or vintage furniture from Six and Sons. For the other sex there are delicate bracelets from the edgy-named Jewel Rocks or ‘urban dwellery’ vests by First of August. Most labels are young and rent some square meters to develop their starting business. My personal favourite is the co-worker ship with Mendo, who sells books nice enough not to read.
Upstairs
Climbing to the first floor reveals what makes this concept store a creative hangout as well. On the left side you can have a freshly made sandwich and eat it at the big wooden table. On the right side PUP exhibits the work of young and upcoming artists on four walls. Besides that the area is big enough for their monthly Friday afternoon drinks, working behind your laptop but you can also rent it for your own diner. Venison, since Nick likes to hunt. So even if your January budget is still recovering from last month, do step by in this catching three dimensional place.
