Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Bandjebandje – die Verschnellung @ Chicago Social Club

BandjeBandje’s musical experiment. A BPM build-up from 0 to infinite. From slow to fast. Why doesn’t anybody else think of this stuff? How does it work in practice? Like this, Jøburg (live) will do a 0 BPM set. Some Chemistry a 0 to 100 BPM set. Olaf Stuut a 100 to 120 BPM set and finally Nuno Dos Santos will go on from 120 BPM to infinity and beyond. As always, expect a club full of hot and sweaty women waving their arms in the air.

Friday: Nightriders @ Air

Oxia (Olivier Raymond) should be no stranger to house and techno fans, specially not after his last appearance in Amsterdam for Studio 80’s PRISMA. Oxia is an absolute pioneer of the French electronic scene. He is well known for his rare but highly appreciated productions. His EPs, as well as his remixes, released at the end of the noughties on Kompakt, Tsuba or 8bit have made him one of the key producers of the Beatport generation, reaching its climax with the international commercial success of ‘Domino’ in 2006 or ‘Whole Life’ in 2010. This time around, he is back at last with a new full-length album called ‘Tides of Mind’, featuring vocals by Miss Kittin, Mesparrow and Scalde. The man will be back in our city this Friday at AIR supported by Olivier Weiter, La Vondèl (live) and Verdi & Sjeroem. Be there or be square.

Saturday: komm schon Alter II (24+) @ Barkode

Es ist wieder soweit! After a sold-out first edition our friend Komm Schon Alter is back at Amsterdam’s renewed club BARKODE. The principle stays the same, eighteen year old pubes are not welcome, but every 24+ soul can put on their dancing shoes. For the occasion they’ve invited Hannes Fischer, Alex q, Miss Melera, Illesnoise, Shimmer and Some Chemistry. That means 2 areas instead of one this time, hurrah! I remember attending last time’s KSA and seeing alot of flirting going on around the dance floor, always nice. Enjoy the hangover.
