Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: Kreativ – Apocalypse of Time @ Studio 80
Kreativ is a creative platform and booking agency that has been around for a bit more than a year now. This includes photographers, designers, illustrators, film makers and of course.. DJs. To celebrate the end of the world, they’ve invited Lovebirds from Germany and local heroes Detroit Swindle to guide us towards the end. Of course, Kreativ residents L’Atelier, Mulla, Mailman, Tijn Benedek and Hellie Berry will all be in the house to support the apocalypse of time.
Friday: Joris Voorn Invites Kölsch @ Trouw
Kölsch is a local beer specialty that is brewed in Cologne, Germany. Kölsch, as in Rune Reilly Kolsch, is a Danish artist that has sold millions of records all over the world under his many different monikers. Nowadays performing and producing under the name Kölsch, the man has produced some massive club anthems like Opa, Der Alte, Loreley and most recently All That Matters. This Friday, Trouw resident and superstar DJ Joris Voorn invited the man to shine behind the decks. Of course, no elaboration needed on Joris Voorn, the only Dutch DJ in the RA DJ top 100. See you up front.
Friday: Boem Tak Invites Michel de Hey @ Club Lite
As I mentioned before, the end is near. Whatever you want to call it and whether you believe it or not, on the 21st of December everybody is going out with a bang, including Boem Tak. Boem Tak has invited all round techno hero Michel de Hey for this one. Next to this, for the second time ever Rauwkost and Francesco Robustelli will be performing there LIVE act back 2 back, which promises to be something unique. Finally, Turtle D and Kleine Peer will open the evening. Area 2 will be disco all the way hosted by Bony.
Saturday: Imprint & Ratio? @ Trouw
To close off the weekend, go to Imprint and Ratio?. Why? Because Imprint stands for underground raw techno and Ratio? for timeless muscular house in all its glory. Plus, they’ve got Rødhåd from Berlin playing in Trouw together with hostess Sandrien and the one and only London based hype Bicep playing with Melon at De Verdieping. I think Bicep and Trouw can only mean good things, for everyone. Forget about all your sorrows, time to go mental, just for this one night. Or not. Have a nice hangover.
