About the author
Ridz, advertises, produces indie/electronic music, performs throughout the Netherlands but ultimately always ends up at an Amsterdam based ensemble... then he blogs about all these things.

5 Days Off, one of Amsterdam’s most progressive and innovative indoor festivals just revealed the first names for their thirteenth edition in March of 2013. Amongst them, we’re happy to announce, are James Holden, Bloody Beetroots, Floating Points, Modeselektor, Mr Scruff, Benji B, Addison Groove, Gilles Peterson, Midland, George Fitzgerald and Mattikk. More names will be revealed at the end of December. Next to a killer musical line-up, 5 Days Off is known for also integrating theatre, film, debate, photography, art and literature into its broad programme.

The festival takes place in and around our city’s playground Leidseplein, at places like Paradiso, Melkweg and De Balie. It attracts twenty thousand music enthusiasts yearly. Last year featured illustrious names such as Madeon, Gui Boratto, Ben Klock, Jessie Ware, Monolake (live) and The Gaslamp Killer, but also brought the then up and coming SBTRKT, Sleigh Bells and James Blake to town. In my opinion this cutting-edge electronic music festival doesn’t require more elaboration.

Presale tickets 5 Days Off (6 to 10 March 2013) now available for:
