Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Dimitri – All Night Long @ Trouw

Once resident DJ at the infamous club Roxy in Amsterdam, nowadays in full effect behind the decks at Trouw all night long. That’s right, house veteran and local legend Dimitri will bring us one of his infamous long sets again. If you’ve never visited one of his all-nighters before, do so now. I think every house lover in this town should do so before moving on with their lives. Have a look at some of the video of his come-back in 2010 beneath to get warmed-up.

Friday: Klerenbende – Halloween editie @

Klerenbende is a vintage dress-up party where you don’t have to think about your outfit. You can find yours ready for you at the venue, for free, as I understand. This edition will be all about Halloween, how convenient is that? Halloween has to be the biggest dress-up event, worldwide. Music will variate from 90s hits, house classics, to discopop, funk, motown and ultimately melodic house beats at the end of the night. On the bill: Black Pillow, Boss & Harris, Illesnoise and many more.

Saturday: BLA BLA w/ Alex Smoke & Miss Melera

Alex Smoke is a Scottish music producer and DJ but based in London, making techno, electronic and classical music. Ever since his album Incommunicado came out in 2005 I’ve been a big fan of this guy. I’ve actually never had the chance to see him live, so personally I’m looking forward to his live-set. I always imagined I would see the guy in a concert scenario, not in Studio 80. Nevertheless, I’ll see you up front. Support comes from our very own Miss Melera with a three hour set and 16 year old prodigy Pascal Benjamin.
