FoamLab presents ShortCut: three teams, 24 hours, one expo, and we’re part of it!

Throughout the year you may have noticed that we like FoamLab. Their quirky ways to introduce photography into our lives are right up our alley. So when they asked us to take part in their new event ‘ShortCut – a one day expo challenge’ we almost didn’t hesitate to say yes.

Yes, I said ‘almost’ because I would be taking part myself to represent Overdose.am in this race against the clock. Of course this is a brilliant project but when I heard the names of the other contestants I was a bit intimidated. No way I could compete?! None other than Alexander Tempel (also from Overdose.am but representing Brilliant after Breakfast here), Sterre van Rossum (Smileinyourface, but you might know her from the Cool Couples series as well), Carli van de Kerkhof (artKitchen Gallery), Vibeke Maschini (Mister Motley) and Lotte Nijhof (Berm) will be helping three photographers (Sander Dekker, Fleur Ouwekerk and Céline Manz).

Three teams, each containing a photographer, curator and blogger will create an exposition in 24 hours. In this electronic age where you can shoot digitally, print immediately and document everything in every second of the day, FoamLab wanted to take things to extremes. We don’t get to pick our teams, and we won’t hear in what team we are until we start. Which makes it all the more exciting, because of course we already did some Google searches and have our preferences. Either way things will work out because everybody is just that talented.

We start on Thursday at 2 o’clock and you can see the finished product on Friday at De Verdieping from 20.00. Be there, not only to see what we came up with but also because you can win an entire exhibition by one of the photographers. Not that you have to be there to win, you can just like and share FoamLab’s post on Facebook, but it’s nice to see what you’ve won, don’t you think?
