Mothers of Art invite you to give Magneet Festival a second life

About the author
Mark Visbeek is a designer, musician, superstar, and loves illeism. Always looking to create beautiful things, I'm often distracted by the amazing stuff happening around me. My most important weapons are limitless amounts of love and a faux-French accent.

Last month’s Magneet Festival proudly rocks a ‘Leave No Trace‘ policy: they promised to leave their terrain as empty and clean as it was when they got it. So what happens to all the scrap material then, you might ask? Well, it sure isn’t thrown out as garbage. They’ve collected it and now they’ll give it back to you.

At this weekend’s Inside Design Amsterdam, ‘De Bende‘ will show you how to use the scrap materials to build your own art, objects and furniture. Guided by the professional builders in the mobile workshop you can transform the former Magneet decorations into something useful and beautiful.

Today, Saturday and Sunday from 11am ’till 7pm you can get your creativity on and help give the discarded materials a second life. So get on your bike and join the design invasion at IJburg this weekend. You won’t only be inspired by all the design pavillions, you’ll also do something good for the world. What more could you want?
