Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Zeezout’s Midsummer Disko Party @ Chicago Social Club

Zeezout, the fairly new hot promoter in town are back with more, more, more disco and deep house this weekend. For their last party of the summer they’ve invited mister disko himself, all the way from Chicago; Rahaan. Although this guy has been playing a lot around this town lately, somehow he never seems to disappoint. The other co-headliner is The Legendary 1979 Orchestra, not the least of names for your ordinary Friday night out in a club. Of course, friends of the show SHMLSS, Halve Soul, Larry de Kat and many more will be there to support this Midsummer Disko Party.

Saturday: 24 Hour Party People @ Studio 80

After a break of a few months, it’s finally time for another edition of the 24 Hour Party People. The party that goes on for longer hours, like every party should. This only, is a reason to get your energizers together and continue to dance until the early hours of the morning. To complete the story the party people invited Thugfucker from the US to headline this one, together with list of local heroes such as Musclefarm (Eric de Man & Aron Friedman), Prunk, Bram Fidder and many more.

Saturday: Point of View @ Sugar Factory

Point of view (PoV) is a new event in town with a very different perspective on the current club scene. According to them, they will represent the deeper house sound, and program their line-ups in search of qualitative music with depth, meaning and a daring aim to experiment. Without a fixed venue for their upcoming events, PoV sets out to surprise its attendees with alternating locations for each edition. The kick-off features a great act that goes by the name of Trickski, which I’ve been listening a lot to lately supported by Uffe (live), Milan Meyberg and birthday boy & host Maarten Pordon. Enjoy the hangover!
