Bless the bad timing of the people at Amsterdam Fashion Week! Completely stressed from missing the bus, the bridge being open while on the bus (twice!) and running on heels, I got to the Westergasfabriek twenty minutes late. Turns out: I was perfectly on time for the show by Dorhout Mees. And what a nice way to relax it was.
Esther Louise Dorhout Mees presented a small womenswear collection named ‘Become’. Inspired by the search for genuineness and nature, the clothes were quite ethereal. Mostly because of the fabrics: very sheer, shimmering, a bit metallic at times. The shoulders were quite strong, while the hotpants and dresses showed the feminine side. It was very well balanced. The hair and make-up was also nicely done (which can’t be said about every show..trust me on this). Very natural and pretty, with the hair looking a bit frayed and in an updo. Again, the contrasts.
I thought about how I could sum up this collection so that everybody will get it. Let’s say that if Tinkerbell would have a role in Game of Thrones, she would wear this collection. Amazing, in other words. But you be the judge!
