Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: Nachtzout @ Chicago Social Club
According to these guys, there aren’t enough spontaneous parties around. That’s the reason why the two organizations Nachtdivisie and ZeeZout shook hands to throw a spontaneous disco & deep house party in the centre of Amsterdam’s nightlife circuit. Expect a perfect mix of local heroes combined with friends of the ZeeZout show with The Legendary 1979 Orchestra from NYC headlining. Supporting: Rue d’Alex & Prosper Rek, Halve Soul, Tim&Ties and more.
Saturday: Hifi @ Trouw
Hifi is Trouw’s indie club night. Once upon a time there were two young boys who felt they had something simple and beautiful to say. They wanted to talk of love, joy and being touched by life. Their names are Superpitcher and Rebolledo, together they are Pachanga Boys and they are trying to make the world a better place with their ‘Hippie Dance’. Known for their dream anthem ‘Time’, they’ll be in town on Saturday for a live set together with residents Nuno dos Santos & Patrice Bäumel.
Saturday: Backstage: Homework Conversation Piece EP Release Party @ Chicago Social Club
July marks a very special period in the productional career of Backstage residents Homework as it is in this month they will release their new (third) EP, Conversation Piece EP, on Berlin-based record label Exploited. A release of such importance deserves a grand party and therefore, this Saturday, Homework will celebrate the birth of their new EP at Backstage. For this occasion they invite Exploited label buddy Doctor Dru (known for his chart-topping club hit ‘The Voice Of Dru’) to join in on the festivities. Furthermore, expect your host and resident Chris Julien, Cardboard Motel, SAFARIMEN and Hollywood & Vine to provide you with the best of hipster house. No cameras allowed.
