Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Thursday: Made For The Night Amsterdam @ Paradiso

This weekend kicks off on Thursday this week with a massive line-up at our city’s pop temple Paradiso. For real, this event will definitely make your night, specially if you’re free on Friday. Main reason: Black Rose. Yup, that would be Henrik Schwarz & Jesse Rose teaming up behind the decks for a live set. Last time I saw this duo was a few years ago in the Melkweg’s smaller room during 5 Days Off. Really excited to finally see these two heroes in action again. This night is being curated by Jesse Rose and for the occasion he also invited Chicago house legend Derrick Carter and with Oliver $ to complete Paradiso’s main area. Small room hosted by Pressure presents U/P with Nino & Frankie, Courts & Shoqdumel.

Friday: Voidd – 7 Years Studio 80 @ Studio 80

Voidd will be celebrating Studio 80’s 7th year of existence with Sammy D, Ryan Williams and Michael Tello, also known as Pillowtalk. Based at the famous Lower Haight District in San Francisco, PillowTalk’s music fuses classic R&B, boogie and disco with underground house and techno. With releases out on Visionquest, Life & Death and Wolf + Lamb, 2012 is shaping up to be a huge year for them as they hit the road with the live band. This Friday they’ll be visiting our town with a live performance AND a DJ set, plus support from upcoming deep house hero DJ Tennis! Gotta love it when artists in the electronica industry bring you just that little bit of extra performance skills. Ultimately, Homework, Eric de Man and Chris Julien will represent our local scene to complete the night. See you up front, at midnight sharp, ’cause that’s when Pillowtalk start their live performance.

Friday: De Nachtdivisie – Zomereditie @ Chicago Social Club

Every first Friday of the month the Chicago Social Club is taken over by De Nachtdivisie. A collective of up and coming DJ/producers from Amsterdam that represent the contemporary house grooves, disco anthems and melodies of our town. Of course, every edition has its own theme. This edition is all about the summer. Who’re are the boys and girls behind the music this time? Sebastiaan Sleebos, Lumière (Arturo Frizzante vs Iza Frizzante), Some Chemistry, The Salvador Brothers, Pau! & Mulla, Rooiecol and Digital Fashion. Support your local scene!

Friday: Midnight Freaks Invites Tiefschwarz @ AIR

Tiefschwarz is originally an electro house group comprising brothers, Alexander “Ali” and Sebastian “Basti” from Stuttgart. Their name means “deep black” in German, and is a combination of the brothers’ surnames, and their love of deep house. These guys have been travelling Europe as DJs since 1995, and this Friday they’ll be paying AIR a visit. Support comes from local hero ONNO with a fresh live set and friend of the club Ferro to get the people in the mood. If you haven’t seen Tiefschwarz before, this might be the moment to do so.

Saturday: Welcome To The Future – 7 Years Studio 80 at Studio 80

Finally, Studio 80 celebrates another 7th anniversary with their infamous Welcome To The Future ensemble. For this occasion they invited Mobilee protagonist Anja Schneider, label mate David Labeij with a live set, WTTF resident Dorine Dorado, Beesmunt Soundsystem and Bram Fidder. I say hoorah to them for being around and continuing to bring us the best in house and techno. Champagne hangover.
