Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Closer – Border Community Night @ Klinch, Melkweg

Border Community is back in town again this weekend! The infamous UK-based independent label releases a variety of heavy electronic music. You might have heard of producers such as James Holden, Nathan Fake, Extrawelt & Ricardo Tobar. The lastly named will be headlining the Melkweg this Friday together with Fairmont and Closer resident Jorn Liefdeshuis, just as he did at the last Border Community showcase during New Years Eve. If you’re into emo-house and techno, this might be one to attend for you. Olff & Luc Mast will be supporting this event.

Wanna join in on the fun? Drop us your favourite Border Community track as a comment on this post on our Facebook wall to win 2×2 tickets for this event. Winner announced on Friday around noon.

Friday: FORMAT 2 Years: Juan Sanchez invites The Advent LIVE @ AIR

Another player in the game that has something to celebrate is FORMAT. Juan Sanchez, AIR and our friends from Misc Agency created this new techno party concept called FORMAT two years ago. Since then they’ve managed to book some big names in the industry and even host a main stage at Amsterdam’s big festival Amsterdam Open Air. For this occasion, they’ve brought along The Advent LIVE, which cannot go wrong if you’re into proper techno. Also, expect a b2b set from Juan Sanchez and Daniel Sanchez, supported by Bas Amro. Mensch! host AIR2 with their residents. Sounds like a decent way to spend your second birthday to me.

Saturday: Voidd – 5 Years @ Studio 80

And another anniversary! Voidd is celebrating its fifth year of existence like it should with an all-nighter until 9 A.M.! For this glorious edition they’re flying over two of Diynamic’s heroes H.O.S.H. and Liem. H.O.S.H. won’t be performing alone though, he’s bringing the lovely Malonda over for a special live vocal performance. Of course, you need more than two Germans to fill an all-nighter, and the rest of the line-up is filled with local heroes Prunk, Ille Bitch, William Kouam Djoko & Jason Shae, Bram Fidder & Bert Jimmink and Tim Hoeben & Job Jobse. I don’t like to push you to choose a specific party on a Saturday night, but this one is really your best bet to go wild.

Saturday: Cartel meets PLAK featuring Kombinat 100 @ Woodstock 69

For the fourth consecutive time, Cartel and Plak will work together to set up what is to be another classic event at your favourite beach hangout Woodstock 69. What makes this edition special is that they’re flying over Kombinat 100, an act which I’ve been very fond of for a while. Let’s hope they gain a bit of sun for this one. More of them beats per minute will be provided by Mollono Bass (DE), Michiel Tettero, Levi Verspeek, Alex Supertramp and KlapSandwich. By the way, expect a proper after party featuring none other than And.Id. until 6 A.M. in the morning. Be home safe.
