It seems like yesterday I was drinking beers while looking at bags. This next edition of the Nachtsalon isn’t in the museum of bags, but in the amazing Tropenmuseum. N8 connects Amsterdam youngsters to art and museums. And what is a better way to do this than through an amazing program filled with art, music, comedy, film, debate, performance, tours, theatre, lectures, workshops and crazy fun? The theme of the night will be ‘A night in urban tropics’ and has an awesome line-up, as always.
Tropical program
Palmbomen, one of my personal favourites, is treating us with a set from the tropics with 80’s Italo and 60’s psychedelics. L’Afrique Som Systeme will bring the heat as well. Their dancehall, Coupé-Decalé, electro, grime and hip-hop style will defiantly make you shake your booty, or at least get up and dance like crazy. For those of you out there that like something else than DJs there is warm soul sound Ntjam Rosie.
As if the music isn’t enough reason to go, here’s another list of things that makes the Tropenmuseum a must go. Intimate poerty sessions with PoetryPusher, stand-up comedy from Soundos El Ahmadi (who was in Wie Is De Mol), a spicy live hip-hop performance by RBBP and a New Zealand Maori style film directed by Taika Waititi called Boy. Or you could just look at the amazing collection from the museum. This isn’t even the whole program, the museum of the tropics will be filled with more surprises.
