Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by suggesting some events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. Here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Drukpers @ Trouw

Drukpers is Job Jobse’s own club night at his baby Trouw. As a programmer for the club he must have an eye for upcoming DJ talent. Well, this time he’s booked one of my absolute favourite producing artists of the past year: Mano Le Tough. I’ve been a major fan of his sounds ever since I heard Let’s not talk about love last summer. Since then, I’ve been following the German DJ/producer and he hasn’t let me down to date, so I’m really looking forward to seeing him in action this Friday. Support comes from Barnt and Job Jobse himself. See you up front!

Friday: De Nachtdivisie @ Chicago Social Club

Every first Friday of the month the Chicago Social Club is taken over by De Nachtdivisie. A collective of up and coming DJ/producers from Amsterdam that represent the contemporary house grooves and deep sounds of our town. Of course, every edition has its own theme, and this time it’s all about celebrating spring! For the occasion they’ve invited their residents Lumière (Arturo Frizzante vs Iza Frizzante), Hellie Berry, SHMLSS, Tim & Ties, The Salvador Brothers, Mulla & l’Atelier (Paul) and Rooiecol to shine behind the decks. Support your local scene!

Saturday: Colors – 2 Year Anniversary @ Trouw

I remember Colors’ 1 year anniversary last year featuring a legendary b2b performance by JoyMaster (Jackmaster & Joy Orbison). Boy, have these guys built a reputation when it comes to UK bass, house, hip-hop and dub music nowadays. This weekend, a year later, they’re still doing it and they’re ready to celebrate their second year of existence with none other than London based Pearson Sound aka Ramadanman, Ben UFO, Pangaea and local Colors protagonist Cinnaman. Enough reasons to go, plus expect Audio Culture x Boston Strip’s residents taking over de Verdieping as well! Have a nice hangover Amsterdam.
