Ridz, advertises, produces indie/electronic music, performs throughout the Netherlands but ultimately always ends up at an Amsterdam based ensemble... then he blogs about all these things.

The best birthday to celebrate besides your own is without a doubt the Queen’s. A couple of very nice parties will be served to you in honour of Her Majesty. I wonder if she’d like them, but that’s pretty irrelevant. The Queen herself will be celebrating in Rhenen and Veenendaal, but I would highly recommend you to go boozin’ at the following night parties in Amsterdam. God bless the Queen!

Sunday: Blackout Q-Night – Tensnake x Benoit & Sergio x Jackmaster & More @ MC Theater

For Queen’s Night Dekmantel’s new baby BlackOut is making its first appearance outside of their usual joint Studio 80. This new XL version of the party is taking place at Westerpark’s hipster palace MC Theater. Known for its wooden floor and amazing acoustics, this should turn out to be a pleasant experience for their headliners Tensnake, Benoit & Sergio and Jackmaster. Support comes from Casper Tielrooij, Thomas Martojo, Michael Jacques, Homework and Beesmunt Soundsystem. Only 100 tickets left at the door Amsterdam!

Where: Mc Theater, Westerpark
Time: 23.00-07.00
Ticket: 100 left at the door

Sunday: Onkruid’s Queensnight @ Undercurrent

Last year they hosted their Queens Night party at Canvas, this year they’re taking it to the next level at northern Amsterdam’s Undercurrent. Due to the fact that this is all happening on Sunday, these guys decided to open their doors early enough to be worth your money, because, let’s be honest, Marc Romboy & Stephan Bodzin are worth every penny as a duo. Emo-techno lovers and neotrancers, prepare yourself for what is going to be a quality night of melodies and BPMs supported by SQL, Child, Roger Martinez, Paul Hazendonk, Dispar Vulgo and Fred Baron. BAM!

Where: Undercurrent
Time: 19:00 – 04:00
Ticket: €25

Monday: Pleinvrees – Qday After @ AIR

The first party Pleinvrees ever gave was on a Queen’s Day. Now, two years later, they’re back with a whole marathon of Queen related extravaganza. My fellow editor Sharron already elaborated on their daytime party, but they’re also throwing an XL after at AIR with all their superstars behind the decks, including our own morgen.am hosting the small area. Yep, AIR1 rockstars: Joris Delacroix, Chymera (live), Oliver Schories (live), Miss Melera, Nuno dos Santos & Bas Amro. AIR2 featuring Some Chemistry, La Vondel (LIVE), ME.N.U, SonurBer (LIVE) and Ferdinand.

Wanna join in on the fun? Drop us your favourite melody based track as a comment on this post on our Facebook wall to win 2×2 tickets for this event. Winner announced on Saturday around noon.

Where: AIR
Time: 19:00 – 04:00
Ticket: €14,50

Monday: Roodwittrouw @ Trouw

Go out drinking like a pirate through Amsterdam and return to your headquarters and get even more wasted with the people around your comfort zone. I think that’s what Trouw is trying to do here with their Roodwittrouw afterparty on Monday. Music provided by Trouw residents only: Tom Trago, Melon, Tom Ruijg, Tim Hoeben, Job Jobse, Boris Werner, Patrice Bäumel, Nuno dos Santos and Sandrien. Sounds like the ultimate incrowd orgy, you know you can’t miss out on that!

Where: Trouw Amsterdam
Time: 20.00-03.00
Ticket: €15

Monday: Voltt – Queensday Special @ Paradiso

One of the biggest after parties this town is offering. If you’re a huge Marek Hemmann fan like me, this is one of the few opportunities to see the man in action around these parts of town. He cancelled numerous gigs before and it seems he’ll actually show up for this one. Also, look out for my other personal favourite: KiNK (live) in the upper area. And did I mention Michael Mayer is playing too? Damn! If you still have enough money left after all those beers during the day, I’d recommend this one to you.

Where: Paradiso
Time: 21.00-05.00
Ticket: €21,50
